Anna Schofield Exhibition | Celebrating Colour

  • Trestle Arts Base Russet Dr St Albans, England, AL4 0JQ United Kingdom (map)

Anna is a self-taught, experimental, intuitive artist and furniture upcycler. She loves to create colourful mixed media paintings using a range of materials and techniques, often incorporating recycled paper, wood and other materials.

Anna is always experimenting and trying out new styles and techniques, and over the next few months, you will be able to see some of her latest works experimenting with colour and texture.

Much of her inspiration comes from the natural world as well as her interest in human nature and our search for meaning and purpose. Anna began painting in 2015 as a response to trauma; this was the start of her personal recovery journey. She has continued to use art as a way of expressing her emotions and experiences as well as practising meditation regularly. Anna understands the benefits of both spiritual practice and creativity on mental health.

She is a passionate advocate for social prescribing and leads the Three Rivers ‘Making it’ Arts on Prescription programme; she also works as a Tutor at the New Leaf Recovery and Wellbeing College which offers free courses across Hertfordshire to support people with their personal recovery and mental health.

Anna enjoys supporting and encouraging other creatives locally and in 2020 she founded the Dacorum Creatives Art Hub in Hemel Hempstead, which hosts up to 18 local artists each month and runs regular demonstrations and workshops.
