Fade To Black at Trestle Arts Base

After two and a half years operating the café and bar at Trestle Arts Base, Fade to Black will finish trading from the venue on Friday 30 October.

We would like to thank Jon, Pete and the Fade to Black team for the work they have put into developing the café and for serving Trestle's visitors, hirers and local community during their time at the Arts Base.

From November, Communities 1st will bring the café and bar operation directly into the wider management of Trestle Arts Base. This will enable us to develop the space alongside our arts, community, and venue activity, including opportunities for community enterprise, volunteering, training, and employment.

Further details about the new café offer and reopening date will follow.

We wish Fade to Black and its team well for the future and both organisations are working together to ensure an orderly handover.

Trestle Gallery – Artist Residency

Next submissions open in May 2026 for residencies beginning in 2027

We’re inviting expressions of interest from local and county-wide artists for a new opportunity to exhibit their work at Trestle Arts Base.

We would offer an attractive 12-16 week slot in our Gallery with a generous amount of wall space using our new hanging system for no cost. You’d also be more than welcome to rotate your work throughout this time.

In return for the use of the Gallery space, we’re looking to hear from artists who are passionate about well-being and would be interested in running creative workshops for the community during your exhibition period. We’re happy to discuss what format these could take! 

Artists need to be DBS checked and have the appropriate insurance.
