An evening of classical Bharatanatyam performed by Divya and her students.
Exploring the connections between words and their interpretation, Divya performs a unique palette of works showcasing a range of aesthetics that provide an insight into the glory of the world of Classical South Asian Dance.
Divya will perform her new work - this is a world premiere of her piece, Naan, which refers to the self and asks questions the self, inspired by Divya’s favourite poet. The piece relates to the Hindu Festival of Navaratri which celebrates Lakshmi Goddesses of Wealth, Durga the Warrior Goddess and Sarasvati the Goddess of Learning.
There will be three student pieces which all invoke Hindu goddesses.
We hope you will come and join us to celebrate this beautiful classical dance form, a very important time of the year for Hindu festivities and Hertfordshire’s leading Bharat Natyam dancer, Divya Kasturi.
