Trestle, throughout its history, has collaborated with numerous individuals and companies. We take pride in building strong and generous creative relationships with our partners on local and international levels.
Working in partnership is vital to the ongoing success of Trestle and we welcome conversations about potential collaborations. These may be based on practical needs, such as space sharing, or creative potential, such as a project with a particular community group or with a specific art form.
Trestle Resident Artist
Each year Trestle Theatre welcomes a resident artist or company to Trestle Arts Base in St Albans to complement the education and outreach offer they currently have and support the development of local artists. Following a successful first Artist in Residence scheme working with Divya Kasturi Dance Trestle Theatre are delighted to announce that this year’s resident Artist is playwright, performer and practitioner Jenny Ayres.

Jenny Ayres - Trestle Resident Artist 23/24
About Jenny Ayres
Jenny originally trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, as well as the international theatre school, LISPA (now Arthaus Berlin), where she specialised in physical theatre. Since then she has worked as an actress, and writer and facilitated many performance-based workshops across the UK, and Europe, as well as performing in Trestle's recent 'Pageant Fever' and leading Trestle mask workshops in schools.
"I have absolutely loved being able to teach, and see first-hand, the extraordinary power of the Trestle masks, and I'm really excited to be combining this with my writing and facilitating skills to create a brand new piece of theatre based on the loss of language and identity caused by Alzheimer's disease. This is an issue very close to my heart and, with this residency, I truly hope to use this opportunity to connect with the local community, open the door to further discussion and help to creatively and honestly demystify an illness that is becoming ever-more prevalent".
