Performances will take place at The Verulamium Museum
Come roamin’ through our history, see through our eyes, listen to our stories…
In the archaeological discovery of the century, a group of young people from the Roman metropolis of Verulamium are unearthed in the ancient ruins of the city. They are dusted down, brought to life and are here to share their incredible stories.
Through an exciting mix of text, image, and ensemble, a contemporary group of young people aged 11-22 yrs, present a site specific performance that examines the links between our history and our present, revealing the truths behind their lives and that of their predecessors 2000 years ago.
This vibrant and thought-provoking piece takes its inspiration from artefacts held at Verulamium Museum and will form part of the closing ceremony for the St Albans 2012 Festival.
(This project mirrors the ‘Stories of the World’ project, part of the Cultural Olympiad bringing Museums to life through interaction with young people.)
Free – Ticketed performances – Tickets available from 14 May 2012 from www.allaboutstalbans.com
