Retroplex at the Trestle Arts Base is a Film Club that is passionate about 80s and 90s classic cult cinema. We want to create the magic of watching all of the greatest cult movies at home in a film club environment.
Movies will be projected onto a large screen in our black box theatre accompanied by a bar that will be serving alcohol, soft drinks and snacks. Retroplex is a place where movie fans can geek-out, quote along, sing along, dress up and hang-out with other movie obsessed nerds.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Luc Besson’s cult classic The Fifth Element we are delighted to be holding a one off special screen at Trestle Arts Base this July.
The Fifth Element
In the 23rd century, a New York City cab driver, Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis), finds the fate of the world in his hands when Leeloo (Milla Jovovich) falls into his cab. As the embodiment of the fifth element, Leeloo needs to combine with the other four to keep the approaching Great Evil from destroying the world.
Together with Father Vito Cornelius (Ian Holm) and zany broadcaster Ruby Rhod (Chris Tucker), Dallas must race against time and the wicked industrialist Zorg (Gary Oldman) to save humanity.
