A solo musical cabaret adapted from A Midsummer Night’s Dream
Critically acclaimed Theatre Company Moon Fool returns to Trestle Arts Base with a one woman, musical adaptation of A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Music and theatre audiences have the unique opportunity in Spring 2012 to see the revamp of Moon Fool’s critically acclaimed production ill met by moonlight performed by actress, director and musician, Anna-Helena McLean. This piece of music driven storytelling re-imagines Shakespeare’s well-loved play as a modern day cabaret turned bacchanal.
In this engaging, funny, sensual and visually striking experience, Titania, Queen of the Fairies, plays out events from her past, in an attempt to woo the audience off the path and back into the woods. Combining original music and playful movement Moon Fool is the Queen of the Fairies’ tale with an amplified twist.
Anna Helena McLean founded and directs Moon Fool which as well as the name of this solo piece is the name of this platform for international music and theatre exchange to generate performance, research and educational opportunities for artists and audiences alike. Anna-Helena brings an expanding international creative community together by generating high quality music, movement and text based performance works and events.
