11+ and beyond: Successfully Guiding your Child through the Educational Maze

Speaker Dee Francken, Education Consultant for Bright Young Things’ newly opened tuition centre in St Albans, is an educator with long standing experience in both the state and independent sectors. She has held senior positions in both Senior and Junior Schools. Since taking early retirement from the Headship of one of London’s top Independent Prep Schools, she has been an advisor to two government departments on educational matters.

With this event, we aim to guide parents through their child’s intricate educational path, from choosing a school to preparing them for assessments and guiding them in their studies. Topics include:

Choosing a school: 4-18 or separate Junior and Senior school
Criteria for getting in to local state schools including faith schools
Entry to independent schools: 4+, 7+, 11+, 13+ and 16+
How to make your child an independent learner
To tutor or not to tutor
Preparing your child for assessments.
