The Live Music Project: Sat 30 Aug

Free Entry, doors open 7.30pm, licensed bar

The Live Music Project is back in August with a rock/folk/indie vibe.  Stolen Horse will now be headlining the gig with support from Starseedz, Noel Cowley, Minnie Birch and Harry Phillips.  (Unfortunately previous headliners The Neverists had to pull out due to their singer’s poorly throat.)

Musicians Teddy Pester, Ben Aylott and Ben Moore formed Stolen Horse in 2013 after meeting at the University of  Herts. They came together sharing a similar vision for an alternative acoustic/folk band. Their musical influences include Fleet foxes, Seth Lakeman, Rory Gallagher and Bob Dylan to name a few, and they are currently mixing their debut EP Two Ravens.

Starseedz are joining the line up on 30th August with their EP launch Little Bird.  Starseedz are St. Albans based duo, Catrine O’Neill and Jon Willoughby, who’s combined song writing brings together a range of influences, the result being vibey and atmospheric.

Noel Cowley is a London based singer/songwriter. Noel’s understated vocals and instantly hummable tunes have been likened to Crowded House, Travis and Del Amitri. ‘Wherever I Go’ from his new ‘Home Is Everywhere’ EP was played recently on BBC Radio 2.

Minnie Birch makes a welcome return to The Live Music Project.  The singer songwriter from Hemel Hempstead makes ‘mend your heart songs’  which have been played on  BBC introducing and Radio 2. She also opened for Joan Armatrading during her 2013 UK tour.

Harry Phillips is a 21 year old acoustic songwriter who will be making his Trestle debut. Originally from Aldbury, Hertfordshire Harry is now based in Somerset, Worcestershire, Berkhamsted and wherever else he ends up!

The Live Project: Vol 1  is out now!  The CD features 12 tracks by some of  fabulous bands and artists who have played at Trestle and costs just £6.00. It is available to buy from Trestle Arts Base or Denise Parsons production@trestle.org.uk and you can also purchase it at the monthly gigs.   All proceeds go towards supporting this popular community/volunteer project.

The Live Music Project is run by local music promoter/supporter and community champion, Denise Parsons.  If you are interested in volunteering for the event or would like to sign up to perform, please contact Denise at production@trestle.org.uk
