February’s gig guarantees a great night of music with April Blue, Melodi, Alton Wahlberg and Oka Vanga.
April Blue are the founders of ‘Suburban Soul,’ a meeting of genres rooted in their love of great music. Songwriters Ian Morcher and Ozz LP are inspired by sounds and stories, irrespective of genre or era, with as much love for Van Morrison as for J Dilla. The band will headline the gig fresh from winning a recording contract in a local competition, so come and help celebrate their success!
Singer/songwriter Melodi Hadebe inherited her musical interest and talent from her father, a poet and a singer/songwriter himself. Her music fuses her background of acoustic music with her love & passion for drum & bass. Melodi has just released her new EP recorded at Jacket Records by our very own Sound Engineer, Jack Hobbs.
Alton Wahlberg (aka The Bearded Busker!) hails from Suffolk and uses a unique blend of his folk/indie style to capture and enthral
audiences with his songs and stories. He recently featured on the re released version of Do They Know It’s Christmas by Band Aid 30.
Oka Vanga are Angela Meyer and William Cox, a charismatic acoustic duo that combine complex finger picking and rich melodic writing to create exciting guitar music. Their sound is a melting pot of melodies woven tightly together with unity and precision, and their energetic live performance is a perfect match for their intense style of acoustic music.
Don’t forget the next Acoustic Cafe Session is on Sunday 22 March, 2-5pm, details coming soon!
The Live Music Project is run by local music promoter/supporter and community champion, Denise Parsons. If you are interested in volunteering for the event or would like to sign up to perform, please contact Denise at email@example.com
