We’re thrilled that hard rockers High Treason will be headlining the gig in September with support from Chameleon Boy, Los Ladrones de Amor, Cicero Buck, Garry Smith plus DJ Eddie James from Empire Records on the decks!
High Treason have been massive supporters of The Live Music Project since the start, headlining the very first gig back in April last year, donating music equipment to the project and even filming their latest video in our theatre. Their drummer, Gary Scarbrow, sadly passed away in July this year and will be hugely missed. Our condolences go out to the band, Gary’s family and all who knew him. Here’s High Treason’s tribute to Gary, Big Brother in the Sky…
Chameleon Boy are back this month with the full band; John Beeson, Jon Horlick, Dave Ashcroft and B Barry. This hugely popular local band will performing pop/rock originals and make a welcome return to Trestle.
Los Ladrones de Amor (The Thieves of Love) are raw, mostly acoustic and angry… ‘Our melodic and lyrical songs are full of sleaze and soul and a bit of black humour, mixing latin grooves and the spirit of punk.‘ Front man Kevin Saunders is heavily involved in the Hertford music scene and this will be the band’s first Trestle gig.
Cicero Buck (Kris Wilkinson Hughes and Joe Hughes) have been writing, recording and performing together, developing their own unique marriage of Americana folk/roots influences with basic hooky pop/rock songcraft. Joe Hughes co-wrote ‘No More I Love You’s’ with his band The Love Speaks in the 80’s which was later a massive hit for Annie Lennox.
We welcome back slide guitarist and singer/songwriter Garry Smith. ‘I aim to take slide guitar out of the “Blues Ghetto”. So a typical set will include my own songs and instrumentals alongside covers of artists such as Joe Ely, Richard Thompson or Tom Waits.’
All this plus DJ Eddie James spinning some vinyl inbetween bands. See on the 27th for a rockin’ good night!
The Live Project: Vol 1 is out now! The CD features 12 tracks by some of fabulous bands and artists who have played at Trestle and costs just £6.00.
