Now it is time for our last exhibition of 2012… and what better way to end off a brilliant year for Britain than with an exhibition by Anne-Marie Stijelja, whose work celebrates some of those quintessentially British things that we all love.
Inspired by nature, people, textures and the diverse world around us, Anne-Marie works in many mediums including glass, textiles and mixed media, to create artwork which reflects her mood at any given moment in time. Her latest body of work comprises of using stamps as her medium, incorporating them into canvases that explore a wide range of popular themes. Uniquely immersive and purposely designed to be inclusive, Anne-Marie’s work connects with people of all ages, genders and cultures and is achieved in part due to the eclectic mix and colourful pictorial nature of the stamps themselves.
Anne-Marie exhibits regularly throughout the UK, Hertfordshire and in her home town of Bedford, where she also teachers and runs creative workshops for the community. Her artwork has received much media interest locally, including a radio interview on BBC Three Counties which you can listen to now on her website.
