17 - 26 November 2008

Trestle’s international workshop residencies provide training and development opportunities for professional performers and theatre makers, led by renowned international artists.

This year Trestle is offering a rare opportunity to gain skills in polish theatre traditions of physicality and song and relate them to storytelling theatre. Working with physical techniques to liberate the voice, participants will learn eastern European songs, develop individual and chorus techniques and explore the expression of cultural identity through voice.

The 10-day workshop will be led by experienced Polish theatre practitioners Anna-Helena McLean and Christopher Sivertsen, in collaboration with Trestle's Artistic Director, Emily Gray and Head of Taking Part, Oliver Jones and Associate Artists Anna Reynolds (writer) and Loz Kaye (composer). The workshop will be held from 17 - 26 November 2008 at Trestle Arts Base in St Albans, followed by a sharing event on 6 December at the Siobhan Davie Studios in London.
