EDUCATION & PARTICIPATION
Moon Fooling: a workshop in musicality, movement and Shakespeare
Moon Fooling: a workshop in musicality, movement and Shakespeare
Trestle and Moon Fool will be offering an education workshop to accompany their new touring show, Moon Fool – ill met by moonlight. Moon Fooling will reflect the show’s mix of text, rhythm and physicality.
The workshop will introduce participants to elements of the production such as the musicality of Shakespeare's language and the dynamics of movement inherent in the text. For students new to Shakespeare, the workshop will open up the words through forms of hand, body and facial 'gesture' and acrobatic exercises. The play's themes, including the comic complexities of love and relationships and the balance that exists between humans and nature, will also be explored.
Moon Fooling will be delivered by members of the Moon Fool company and Trestle's experienced workshop leaders and is an ideal way to enhance students' appreciation of the performance, whether before or after a visit to see Moon Fool - ill met by moonlight.
