Workshop and resources
Scaling the Heights
Trestle will be offering a practical, energetic, and intensely physical education workshop to accompany its production of The Glass Mountain. The workshop will explore the techniques and themes from the show, as well as giving students the chance to experience first hand how Trestle creates its work.
Participants will play with rhythm, impulse, mutuality and gymnastics: all techniques that have evolved from Polish theatre companies Gardzienice and Song of the Goat. They will also examine the themes behind the eponymous Polish fable, including the pursuit of dreams, and the physical journeys we endure when striving for our goals. At the end of the workshop, students will have learnt new physical theatre techniques, explored different ways of working within a group dynamic, and devised short pieces of physical storytelling inspired by their own imaginations.
The workshop is suitable for GCSE and A Level Drama students and will be led by an experienced Trestle practitioner. Recommended number of participants is a maximum of 24.
Duration: 2 hours
Cost: £200 + travel + VAT
