A workshop which explores mental health and the complexities of mental illness through creative activity. Using actual images and writings from the patients and staff at Hill End Psychiatric Hospital in St Albans, which closed in the mid-1990s, we share insights into life at the hospital and how those experiences compare with perceptions of mental illness today. Through physical theatre techniques, participants are able to engage with the issues in a safe context and create short, evocative scenes about the experience of being part of the Hill End Hospital community.
