The first Live Music Project Gig of 2014, takes place on Saturday 25 January, we are delighted to be joined by Indi & the Vegas, Tom Craven, Rae Kelly and Starseedz, the doors open at 7.30pm and as always this is a FREE event.
Headlining are Indi and the Vegas, a highly charismatic and enjoyable band that perform a mix of original songs and covers that will leave you begging for more. Describing themselves as “Queen meeting Prince and jamming through the Red Hot Chilli Peppers greatest hits!” Indi’s guitar playing and vocal ability is spellbinding and a real treat to watch.
Also performing is Tom Craven; from sing-alongs to heartfelt ballads, Tom has an intense emotion to his vocals and his music has subtle elements towards indie and folk, but his real strength lies in his storytelling and confidence/presence on stage. An honest & bold acoustic troubadour!
Endorsed by Ovation guitars and having toured California amongst gigs throughout the UK and Europe from the age of 20, Tom (Now 27) continues to steadily make his mark with his “ability to blend acoustics and rock in a unique way; creating a perfect blend of music for all ages”. With two amateur demos and a 5-track début EP ‘Unseen Angel’ released in 2008, Tom’s repertoire has been classed as “a bold, enigmatic collection of songs from a heartfelt and ultimately honest talent”.
Rae Kelly is a Dublin-born singer/songwriter now based in St Albans, Hertfordshire. Her charming blend of alternative pop and evocative lyrics endear her to audiences. Rae has played venues including The Alban Arena, Proud Galleries Camden and the Elgiva Theatre in Chesham. In July 2012 she was delighted to be invited to play a 90 minute set at the ZMF Festival in Freiburg, Germany that featured performances from Janelle Monae and Patti Smith.
Her début EP, ‘Render all your thoughts’ was well received by local radio stations and has featured on BBC Introducing.
“Rae Kelly’s blend of jazz, pop and thought provoking lyrics provides a slightly alternative musical intrigue…her music takes on a unique sound that meanders through sultry melodies and catchy upbeat rhythms.” – Jamie Day, The Review
Starseedz, are a St. Albans based duo have 2 members, Catrine O’Neill (Vocals, guitar) and Jon Willoughby (Guitars, backing vocals), who’s combined song writing brings together a range of influences, the result being vibey and atmospheric. Catrine’s breathy bittersweet vocals lend themselves to Jonathan’s mellifluous guitars and musical interpretation.
We can’t think of a better way to beat those New Year blues and hope to see you there!
